Expert Advice
U-PVC compared to aluminium is a far superior material when it comes to energy performance. a standard U-PVC window with clear double glazing has a U-Value of 2.1 and with a base LowE glass a U-Value of 1.8. To achieve these ratings in aluminium the windows and doors would need to be thermally broken which akes them almost twice as expensive as U-PVC and still would not get the same ratings with the same glass.
